Carlos Ulberg defeated Jiri Prochazka by KO (left hook and punches) at 3:45 of Round 1

Carlos Ulberg is the new UFC light heavyweight champion, and he had to survive a world of adversity to get there!

“Black Jag” appeared to rupture something in his right leg early in the contest, but persevered nonetheless, doing his best to remain present and avoid the oncoming attack of Jiří Procházka. With the former champion crashing forward, looking to take the fight to his wounded foe, Ulberg connected with a check left hook that put Prochazka on the deck, and after a series of powerful follow-ups, the fight was over.What a gutsy and game effort from Ulberg, who became the second Dana White’s Contender Series grad to win the light heavyweight title and fourth to claim UFC gold overall. That’s now 10 straight victories and consecutive first-round stoppages for the new champion, who advanced to 15-1 overall with the stunning finish.

Paulo Costa defeated Azamat Murzakanov by KO (head kick) at 1:23 of Round 3

Paulo Costa rolled into the light heavyweight division and bounced Azamat Murzakanov from the ranks of the unbeaten, securing a third-round stoppage win to instantly establish himself as a contender in the 205-pound weight class.
The Brazilian took the fight to Murzakanov in the first round, looking the best version we’d seen in some time, attacking with speed and power and hurting the undefeated Russian a couple times. While Murzakanov clawed back into the contest in the second, Costa came out firing to start the third and stunned the Dana White’s Contender Series alum with a series of heavy kicks, the accumulated damage ultimately causing Murzakanov to wilt to the canvas and prompting referee Keith Peterson to stop the fight.Just an incredible performance from the former middleweight title challenger, who earned his first finish since beaten Uriah Hall at UFC 226 all the way back in July 2018. Murzakanov was at No. 6 in the rankings, meaning “The Eraser” is going to be in the championship mix going forward.

Josh Hokit defeated Curtis Blaydes by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

The heavyweight clash between Josh Hokit and Curtis Blaydes turned into an absolute slobberknocker that somehow went the distance, with both men showing incredible resilience and tenacity as they battled back-and-forth for 15 gruelling minutes.

Hokit charged across the Octagon and took the fight to Blaydes right out of the chute, wobbling and cutting him early, swarming in search of a finish. The veteran Blaydes steadied himself and the rest of the contest was a give-and-take — Hokit’s speed and power measured against Blaydes’ volume; neither man willing to wilt, resulting in a chaotic masterpiece.

When the scorecards were collected and totalled, it was Hokit that came out ahead, earning by far the biggest win of his career while advancing to 3-0 in the UFC and 9-0 overall. This is a massive victory for the 28-year-old prospect, who should climb into the Top 10 — if not the Top 5 — when the rankings update next week.

Dominick Reyes defeated Johnny Walker by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

The first of UFC 327’s three crucial light heavyweight contests between Dominick Reyes and Johnny Walker was expected to be explosive, but instead, it fizzled, as the two men fought with extreme caution and hesitation, going the full 15 minutes without landing anything of real significance.

Both men seemed content to trade kicks from range, with Walker attacking the lead leg of Reyes and the former title challenger mixing up his targets a little more. Few impact punches were thrown and even fewer landed, resulting in a tepid three-round affair that ended with a whimper, instead of the anticipated bang.

Reyes landed on the happy side of the split decision verdict, getting himelf moving in the right direction again to kick off his 2026 campaign. On a night where the division is front and center, this was an opportunity to make a statement, and unfortunately, this wasn’t the statement either man was hoping to make.

Cub Swanson defeated Nate Landwehr by TKO (strikes) at 4:06 of Round 1

Cub Swanson closed out his MMA career in spectacular fashion, registering a walk-off knockout win over Nate Landwehr to kick off the UFC 327 main card and bring a 22-year career to a close.

“Killer Cub” was locked in from the outset, softening up Landwehr with low kicks as he started sniping home clean punches. As the fight progressed, Swanson continued to land clean, finally driving a right hand down the pipe that put Landwehr on the canvas and halted the action.

The 42-year-old closed out his career with the same kind of entertaining display of beautiful violence that has been his trademark throughout his career and walks away on the heels of consecutive walk-off finishes. One of the all-time good guys in the sport, this was all you could ask for in terms of one final bout for Swanson.
