Opposition MP: No political force in Armenia can currently secure 50%+1 majority
ArmInfo.Currently, no political force in Armenia can secure 50%+1 of the vote alone: neither the opposition nor the ruling Civil Contract party, as stated by opposition MP Garnik Danielyan from the Armenia bloc in a conversation with journalists in the NA.
According to the MP, success in the parliamentary elections in Armenia will only be possible through the consolidation of opposition forces and proper coordination. "I don't want to deceive or mislead our people. I simply believe that only through a united opposition and proper work will it be possible to remove Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power. Today, there are already formed blocs and parties, and they have the potential to secure 50%+1 of the vote if they unite. But, in my opinion, no single force can achieve this on its own," Danielyan stated.
At the same time, the MP believes that consolidation should occur around the opposition force that receives the most votes. "Of course, every political force sees their representative as the candidate for prime minister of Armenia. This is a primary concern for each party individually. However, it would be logical for consolidation to happen around the force that receives the most votes in the election. I see no problem in this regard. In the current situation, all issues must be considered in the context of removing Pashinyan and the ruling party from power," the MP concluded.
