According to a report received by ArmInfo, the Armenian Ministry of Environment has summarized the outcomes of the G7 Ministerial Meeting in Paris, attended by Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan. It is noted that the meeting marked an important milestone in terms of deepening Armenia's international environmental engagement. "The G7 brings together key players in global political and economic processes, and our participation in this forum provided an opportunity to present our country's priorities and contribute to the international discussions around them. Our country's participation was also particularly significant given that Armenia is hosting the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17)," the Ministry said.
According to the source, this circumstance places a significant responsibility on the country for active participation in international processes, strengthening partnerships, and developing consolidated approaches aimed at preserving biodiversity and overcoming climate challenges. During the meetings, Matevosyan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to act as a proactive and reliable partner and presented the country's priorities in ensuring the effective implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework and strengthening interactions between multilateral processes.
"The cooperation and agreements reached at this meeting will make a significant contribution both to the successful organization of COP17 and to ensuring the long-term impact of its results," the Ministry concluded.
