Tsendy Erdenebat & Cobia Breedy Battle in 10-Round Main Event of ProBoxTV’s ‘The Contender Series’

Friday, May 1, ProBox Promotions and NoXcuse Promotions will proudly present The Contender Series, a night of action-packed world-class boxing featuring undefeated super featherweight Tsendbaatar “Chinggis Khaan” Erdenebat (14-0, 6 KOs) of Mongolia taking on once-beaten Cobia Breedy (18-1, 8 KOs) of nearby Largo, Maryland, in the explosive 10-round main event from The HALL at Live! in Live! Casino Hotel Maryland in Hanover, Maryland, and broadcast in real time on ProBoxTV (7:00 pm EDT/4:00 pm PDT).

In the 10-round super featherweight co-feature, entertaining fan favorite “The Franchise” Francois Scarboro Jr. (13-0, 9 KOs) of Cheverly, Maryland, will look to defend his home turf against Managua, Nicaragua’s Maxwel Montes (13-4-1, 7 KOs).

And in the chief supporting bout, 21-year-old Washington, DC-based welterweight prospect David “The Bodysnatcher” Whitmire (11-0, 8 KOs) will take his toughest test to date against Albuquerque veteran Jose Luis “Guerro” Sanchez (14-6-2, 4 KOs).

Now living in Paramount, California, but originally hailing from Tsetserleg, Mongolia, Tsendbaatar Erdenebat competed for his native country in the 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, and won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games before turning professional in 2018.

Erdenebat is a ProBoxTV veteran, having already appeared five times in the proving grounds of the Future Stars and Contender Series. In February of last year, the 29-year-old southpaw captured the WBA Central Asia Lightweight title with a dominant TKO victory over Mexico’s (then 15-1-2) Pedro Bernal in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, marking his first time fighting on home soil and fulfilling his dream of winning a title in his native Mongolia. Erdenebat was last seen scoring a short-notice unanimous 10-round decision over ultra-tough Mexican contender Abraham Montoya in November of last year, live on ProBoxTV.

Originally from Bridgetown, Barbados, and now living in the DMV, 34-year-old Cobia Breedy was a standout amateur boxer who made his country’s 2024 Olympic team but did not compete due to a shoulder injury. Breedy has trained out of Barry Hunter’s HeadBangers Gym in Washington DC for the past couple of years, having relocated to the area prior to turning pro in 2014.

Breedy’s only career loss came to a different Mongolian Olympian, 2012 Olympic Gold medallist Tugstsogt Nyambayar, in September 2020. Although Breedy went down in rounds one and two, he battled back to lose a tight split decision in a world title eliminator, televised live on Showtime. Breedy has sparred with pound-for-pound entrants Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis. He was last seen in the ring stopping 19-4 Dexter Marques in October of last year.

Several other exciting Future Stars series bouts are scheduled, featuring several local and national prospects.

In a six-round welterweight showcase, 21-year-old phenom Benjamin Johnson (7-0. 7 KOs) of Springdale, Maryland will face battle-hardened Lesther “El Negrito Explosivo” Espino (10-8, 8 KOs) of Managua, Nicaragua.

Charles “LOLO” Harris Jr. (11-1, 7 KOs) of Rialto, California, will return against Schereville, Indiana’s Blake Fialka (2-2-1, 1 KOs) in a super lightweight six-rounder; 22-year-old former amateur standout Jordan “Iceman” Roach (7-0, 2 KOs) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, will take on Holman “La Pulga” Matamoros (2-1) of Matagalpa, Nicaragua in a super flyweight six-rounder; 25-year-old Washington, DC southpaw Jay Stancil III (4-0, 1 KO) will continue his development against Nicolas Daniels (0-1) of Westland, Michigan, in a featherweight four-rounder, and in a women’s six-round bantamweight tussle, Rianna Rios (10-0, 2 KOs) of San Antonio will test herself against Elena “Guerrerita’ Ventura (9-11-2, 2 KOs) of San Antonino Castillo Velasco, Oaxaca, Mexico.

In a very special added attraction, former amateur champion and brand-new ProBox Promotions signee “Razor” Ramon Ordonez of Newark, New Jersey, will make his highly anticipated pro debut against Carlos Davila Villalobos (1-1) of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

Before turning professional, 19-year-old southpaw Ordonez was one of the United States’ top amateurs, making it to the US national team in 2025 while competing at the World Championships in England and the World Boxing Cup in Brazil as the youngest boxer on the squad. A five-time national champion, Ordonez had his first amateur bout at age eight and fought in more than 50 bouts, with most coming in national tournaments.

Ordonez, whose parents hail from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, says his goal is to become the next Puerto Rican superstar, following in the footsteps of his favorites, Felix “Tito” Trinidad and Miguel Cotto.
