BTS member Jin has celebrated his birthday by contributing 100 million won (around $68,100) to the Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society a day before his birthday (December 4). The organization, with an 80-year legacy focused on child welfare, announced the contribution on December 3. The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society announced that the funds will be focused on programs for child and youth welfare, consistent with its enduring mission since it was established as a child welfare organization. The donation comes at a significant time for the society as it continues to support vulnerable groups in the region.
Jin's contribution is set to assist multiple scholarship programs for disadvantaged youth and a support initiative for young adults leaving from institutional care. The resources will be allocated to educational and self-sufficiency initiatives aimed at empowering children and young people encountering economic and social difficulties.
A significant part of the contribution will aid a "Self-Sufficient Youth Support Program" for individuals aging out of care facilities, guaranteeing they have resources for their transition to independent living. This highlights a systemic requirement for enhanced support systems for individuals who no longer qualify for state care. Considering Jin's long-standing passion for developing young talent, his involvement is anticipated to create a significant impact on the lives of the youth in Busan. The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society stated that the contribution would strengthen its educational and community goals.
Jin just wrapped up the encore show of his initial solo fan concert tour, "#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR", on October 31, reinforcing his status as a performer and philanthropist.
BTS, the group that includes Jin, is set for a complete group return anticipated in the first half of next year, continuing their worldwide music endeavors. Their previous projects, such as the film BREAK THE SILENCE: THE MOVIE, have received worldwide recognition.
